Understanding SEO KPIs

Last updated : February 9, 2026

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are the key metrics that measure the effectiveness of your SEO strategy. The Lexiik dashboard brings together the essential metrics to track your progress and make data-driven decisions.

Centralized dashboard

Lexiik automatically aggregates data from your store to give you a 360-degree view of your SEO performance without complex configuration.

The 4 main KPIs to monitor

1. Overall SEO Score (0-100)

The Lexiik SEO Score is a synthetic rating calculated in real time that evaluates the overall health of your catalog. This score is based on 4 pillars:

  • Content (25%): quality of titles, descriptions, semantic richness
  • Technical (25%): meta tags, HTML structure, structured data
  • Images (25%): image optimization, ALT tags, modern formats
  • Performance (25%): loading speed, Core Web Vitals, CDN

Target to reach

A score above 75/100 indicates a well-optimized store. Above 85, you are in SEO excellence and ahead of 90% of your competitors.

2. Organic Traffic

Organic traffic represents the number of visitors who arrive on your site via natural search engine results (excluding ads). This is the ultimate SEO KPI because it directly measures the impact of your optimizations.

Lexiik displays the evolution of your organic traffic over the last 30, 90, and 365 days with:

  • Total number of organic visitors
  • Growth rate (%) compared to the previous period
  • Trend curve to identify patterns
  • Seasonality of your activity

Success

Our users see an average 34% increase in organic traffic within 3 months of using Lexiik.

3. Average Ranking

The average ranking indicates the median position of your product pages in Google search results. The lower this number (closer to 1), the better your visibility.

Why this is crucial:

  • Position 1-3: capture 75% of clicks
  • Position 4-10: first page, but reduced visibility
  • Position 11+: second page and beyond (less than 1% of clicks)

Lexiik automatically analyzes the ranking of your products on their target keywords and alerts you when pages drop or progress significantly.

4. Catalog Optimization Rate

This KPI measures the percentage of optimized products in your store. A product is considered "optimized" when it achieves an individual score above 70/100.

Example: If you have 500 products and 350 are optimized, your rate is 70%.

Premium Feature

The Pro and Expert plans allow you to optimize up to 1,000 and 5,000 products respectively, with bulk optimization features.

Complementary metrics

Bounce Rate

The bounce rate indicates the percentage of visitors who leave your site after viewing only one page. A high rate (above 60%) may signal:

  • Content that does not match search intent
  • Loading time too long
  • Unappealing design or poor UX
  • Insufficient product descriptions

Lexiik optimizations (enriched descriptions, optimized images, improved speed) help reduce the bounce rate by 15 to 25%.

Average Session Duration

The longer your visitors stay on your site, the more Google considers your content relevant. An average duration above 2 minutes is a positive signal.

Pages per Session

This KPI measures the average number of pages viewed per visit. A high number (3 pages or more) indicates good internal linking and an engaging catalog.

Tip

Use the internal links suggested by Lexiik to increase this KPI and improve Google's crawling of your catalog.

How to interpret the charts

Time Evolution Chart

The dashboard displays a line chart showing the evolution of your KPIs over time. Here is how to read it:

  • Upward curve: your optimizations are paying off, keep going!
  • Stable curve: position maintained, but room for improvement
  • Downward curve: alert! Identify underperforming products
  • Peaks and dips: may indicate seasonality (sales, holidays, etc.)

Comparative Analysis

Lexiik allows you to compare your performance over two different periods to measure the impact of your actions:

  • Before/after a bulk optimization
  • Current month vs previous month
  • Current quarter vs same quarter last year

Alerts and Automatic Notifications

Lexiik continuously monitors your KPIs and alerts you by email in the following cases:

  • Traffic drop: decrease of more than 20% over 7 days
  • SEO score decline: drop of 10 points or more
  • Product downranked: loss of 5 or more positions in the SERPs
  • Opportunity detected: high-potential product identified by AI

Warning

Do not disable these alerts: they allow you to react quickly before a problem worsens.

Industry Benchmark

The Lexiik dashboard also displays industry averages to contextualize your performance:

  • Average SEO score for your industry
  • Typical e-commerce conversion rate
  • Average ranking of your direct competitors

This anonymized data allows you to see where you stand relative to the market and identify priority areas for improvement.

Premium Feature

In-depth competitive analysis is available on Expert and Enterprise plans, with automatic identification of your top 10 SEO competitors.

Export and Reporting

All KPIs displayed in the dashboard can be exported in CSV or PDF format to:

  • Create monthly reports for your management
  • Feed your BI (Business Intelligence) tools
  • Archive your performance for historical analysis
  • Justify your SEO investments with concrete data
